Creation Care Camp 2026

At Creation Care Camp, we invited 32 rising 4th - rising 6th grade students to come learn about the environment and had LOTS of fun!

We learned a lot about animals with a visit to Winchester Creek Farms and the WNC Nature Center. It was a joy watching students hold chickens and feed goats and witness the wonder of the red foxes who were putting on a show for us that day. We also welcomed friends from Appalachian Wildlife Refuge who teach such important knowledge about local wildlife and were gracious to answer all the questions! They also brought two animal ambassadors, a box turtle and a duck named "FootLoose," both of whom the students loved meeting. The ladies at the Grace Giving Garden planned a fantastic day in the gardens at Grace Church! We planted 40 plants in a 40 square foot garden, painted with compost, enjoyed freshly brewed mint tea, and walked through the beautiful memorial and pet memorial gardens. You wouldn't believe the laughs that were had as they floated down the river that Tuesday :) It's one of my favorite things to get in the river and learn from the experts at Haywood Waterways.
