Music Makers is the flagship music education program designed for children, Kindergarten through 5th Grade at FUMC Waynesville.
Time & Location: Wednesday afternoons from 3:15 - 5:30pm. Located at FUMC Waynesville (140 Academy St Waynesville, NC 28786)
There is no cost for Music Makers.
Fall Semester Dates: September 16, 2026 - November 18, 2026
After a long day at school, Music Makers begins with play time and a snack. After that, children rotate between two music classes and a time block to complete homework with an awesome group of caring volunteers in the Children’s Area!
Our professional music instructors offer grade-level appropriate classes and activities including group instrument lessons on Orff and classroom instruments, drumming, ukulele, and penny whistle; ensemble experiences in chime and handbell groups; Cantamos (a choir that sings a variety of music); and crafts. Our teachers make learning the basics fun!

Transportation:
Provided Transportation: Music Makers provides transportation from school to FUMC for Junaluska, Riverbend, Hazelwood, and Jonathan Valley Elementary Schools.
Parent Dropoff: If your student attends a different school from the options listed above, they are still welcome to attend! We have many families who drop their students off! Families can drop students off at the FUMC Courtyard (140 Academy St) between 3:15 - 3:50pm so that students may still get a snack and have time to get to their classes that start at 4:00pm.
